Questions
The things people ask me most. If yours is not here, it probably should be, so tell me.
Have a question?
Ask me anything about the candles, an order, or a scent you wish I made. I read every message and I will write back.

- When will my candle get here?
- It depends on the candle. If it says In stock, it is already poured and ready, so it ships in a day or two. If it says Poured on request, I make it after you order and let it set for about two weeks, so it ships in about 2 weeks. Once it is in the mail, it usually takes about 4 to 5 days to get to you.
- Do I have to wait before lighting it?
- No. Every candle sets for about two weeks before it leaves my house. Fresh wax needs that time to set up and hold onto the scent, and lighting it too early means it will not smell as strong and may not burn evenly. I do the waiting for you, so you can light it as soon as it arrives.
- How does shipping work?
- Orders of $40 or more ship free. Under that, shipping is figured out from your address on the payment page, along with sales tax, so you see the real cost before you pay. Two jars ship for about the same as one, so it is worth adding a friend’s. Everything goes out packed by me, wrapped so the glass does not knock around.
- What if my candle starts tunneling?
- Tunneling is when the flame burns straight down the middle and leaves a wall of unmelted wax around the edge of the glass. It can be corrected. Burn the candle in one sitting until the melted wax pool reaches the edge of the glass, then let it cool and harden completely before lighting it again. Once the surface has reset level, it should melt evenly from edge to edge from then on.
- Who actually makes these?
- Me. I pick the scents, pour the wax, put on the labels, and pack the orders. My parents help with shipping and the boring paperwork, and my dad helped me build this website. Share My Light is a real licensed business and I am the owner. More about me.
Candle safety
A candle is a real flame, so please treat it like one. These are the rules that come with every jar.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended, and put it out before you leave the room or go to sleep.
- Keep burning candles away from children and pets.
- Burn on a level, heat-resistant surface that can take the heat of the glass.
- Keep the flame away from curtains, paper, bedding, and anything else that can catch fire.
- Keep candles out of drafts, vents, and fans so the flame does not flare or smoke.
- Trim the wick to about a quarter inch before every burn.
- Do not burn for more than four hours at a time.
- Stop burning when about half an inch of wax is left in the bottom of the jar.
- The glass gets hot. Do not pick up or move a candle while it is lit or still warm.
- Never use water to put out a candle.
