About me

My name is Penelope and I’m 11. I started Share My Light because I wanted to make something real that people would actually use, not just a craft that sits on a shelf.

The first candle I ever made was Birthday Cake. It was lumpy and the wick was crooked, but it smelled amazing, and my whole family wanted one. So I made more. Then my friends’ parents wanted some. Then I needed a website.

I do the fun parts: picking scents, naming them, pouring, and writing the labels. A grown-up does the hot wax, the box taping, and the trips to the post office. We’re a team.

The name comes from the thing I wrote on my first label. A candle is just a little light, but a little light can make a whole room feel different. I like being the person who makes that.

Things I believe in

  • Soy wax only. It burns cleaner and I can wash the pot in the sink.
  • Scents a kid would actually choose. No “mahogany teakwood” here.
  • Every label written by hand, by me, even when my hand gets tired.
