I’m 11 and I run a real candle business. I pick the scents, pour the wax, and write every label by hand. A grown-up helps with the hot parts and the post office.

Every candle takes about a week start to finish. Here is the whole thing.
Soy wax flakes go in the pot on low. This is the part where a grown-up stands right next to me.
I measure the scent oil with a kitchen scale. Too much and it smells weird, too little and it's just wax.
The wick gets glued in first, then I pour slowly so there are no bubbles. Slow pouring is the secret.
Candles need to cure for a week so the smell gets strong. Then I write the label and it's ready.

That’s the thing I wrote on my very first label and it’s still what I believe. When you light one of my candles, I hope your room feels a little cozier and you feel a little happier. That’s the whole idea.
